New Add-On idea...
Okay, now that they've done a u-boat add on, it's time to do a Japanese add on, since it is the Pacific War!:hmm:
If I had the influence and/or modding skills, this is what I would make: Japanese subs included: Kaidai, Junsen, kaichu (Ro-class), and B-1 classes. Midgets??? Brit subs/ Dutch subs: [insert favorite Brit/Dutch sub] Campaigns/ Missions: Guadalcanal, Indian Ocean, Pearl Harbor, US West Coast, Aleutians, Australia, and historical supply missions Cool ideas: It would be a trip to figure out how to launch the recon planes from the airplane carring subs. Type 95 torpedoes???:hmm: :hmm: Launch a kai-ten? Possible ULTRA ambushes. Now I would pay money for this.:hmm: OR Let's put a team together!

I think the big challenge would be just surviving! No deep diving Gatos or Balaos, you're pushing your luck @200 ft. No radar to warn you.
Could you survive an encounter with the USS England? ...make it to the West Coast and launch a midget into San Fransisco harbor (harbour :rotfl: ) Take pot-shots at West Coast oil refineries. Launch a scout plane to look for shipping traffic. I think it has possiblites.

I like the midget sub mission.
Just a quick thought as to how to do it? Make the midget sub playable and attach a full sub as an ejectable part? Of course, there would be problems as far as interior stuff goes. |

I'd actually like to see a british campaign for a change. In the North sea, the bay of biscay or the mediterranian these boats were quite busy.

But don't get me wrong: if they were to actually do it, I'd be the first in line to by a Japanese, British, Italian or even Dutch version.

A British campaign would realy float me boat. Would love to get me hands on a T Class sub sailing home with the jolly roger flying high:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_T_class_submarine The early variants had 10 forward firing torpedo tubes (six internal and four single shot external), two of the external tubes were moved to fire aft to improve surface sea keeping. There where 53 built suffering about 25% losses. According to the article thay had a tough time in the Med but faired much better in all other theaters of the war.

There's a T-class sub in SH3 GWX 2.0 if I'm not mistaken and I'm sure a bright spark can make that SH4-compatible, even if only AI at first. I'm sure that another bright spark could make it playable, which would give us a sub for the RN as well as the RNethN, which received two: Hr.Ms. "Zwaardvisch" and Hr.Ms "Tijgerhaai".
