I've started a new campaign in the 29th flotilla, GWX 2.0 using SH3 commander and SH3 weather. I've encountered this bug where when I load a savegame (saved while surfaced, no contacts nearby, 'saved' rather than save+exit), the boat rocks violently and surges down to 507m at 82 kts, where it becomes 'locked' and doesn't respond to orders etc. I've had this happen on all of the last 5 saves i've tried to load (across two patrols) - making it seem pretty systematic. This seems to have happened otu of the blue - like i never experienced it in my previous career using the same mods/utils. Anyone know about this and/or a fix?

I know this could happen with earlier versions of SH3 weather
Go to C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Campaigns\Campa ign And open the Campaign_Scr\Rnd and Lnd with notepad Look for the text below Minute=0 Fog=1 FogRand=0 Clouds=1 CloudsRand=0 Precip=0 PrecipRand=0 WindHeading=0 WindSpeed=4.000000 WindRand=0 WeatherRndInterval=5 SeaType=0 Briefing= And make sure the numbers look the same IIRC is the windspeed which goes to 0 leading to your problem ALL 3 FILES NEED TO READ THE SAME Make changes and save |

Ok - so I checked and Windspeed was indeed set to 0. I changed it to 4.000000 in all three files and the problem seems to have gone away! Back on patrol! Thanks for the tip - but does this happen regularly with SH3 Weather?

Used to happen a lot prior to v1.5
I thought 1.5 had fixed it Not sure which one you have but the fix does work so can always be repaired Now sink em all ![]() |
