i'm sorry Mikhayl

i dont follow. before it was identify ship - read mast height - align rings to get range - drag to length of ship - count off horizontal marks to find AOB

i suppose what im saying is how does it work now in relation to using those rings through scope, sounds like part of the equation has been taken out - why double mast height ??

sorry, i'm lost myself now

Did you read the bit in OLCs readme about the mast height tool?

i kind of understand that, but the mast value for that tramp is now 90.8, this is what reads in the identification manual....

have i installed something i dont need ?

i'm lost.

Letum, yes i have seen this in the readme, i have installed as instructed, but dont understand how to use this now. the mast has gone from - for the tramp, from 45.4 to 90.8, this seems to mess up the calculations with the rings - i'm obvioulsy not getting something...?

should i disable this 'double mast value' and go back to the other, coz it has thrown me out completly :rotfl: i've only just mastered the previuos version and now ive updated the mod - wich i love by the way - and i'm thrown by these new values...?

ok.

now, i've just disabled the double mast value tool in the mod enabler.

the number now has reverted to, for the tramp, 45.4 for the mast coming down from as it was before, 90.8.

i hope this has cured it.

with the previous version of this mod i completly uninstalled it as recommended and installed the new one GUI 1.2.3. with it came this mod the double mast value tool which i installed following the instructions, when i went to the identification manual the numbers had doubled for the mast height - and i thought this was a new way of doing it.

something has gone adrift - probably me. it sounds to me like the double mast value is already in the mod AND THEN added again somehow - do you follow this or am i imploding !! :rotfl:

ahhhh! if you accidentaly use the tool twice, or you do not disable previous versions of the mod before using the tool, the mast values will be x4.

i think Letum you are catching on. i uninstalled olc's previous version and installed the new 1.2.3, maybe i had left a mast tool mod somewhere and not cleared it out...i dont know ?

but things seem to have gone back to normal - 45.4 instead of 90.8.

thanks for staying with me on this - and if I £$%&-*! again, i'm sure you'll see my posts here !!

cheers
