Default Third delay for the Boeing's Dreamliner in the making?

http://www.reuters.com/article/compa...37040820080320

I'm sure after the scorn and derision Airbus earned from Boeing fans with the delay of the A380 due to too short cables that needed to be replaced, this third problem with the Dreamliner will give some Airbus-fans some gloomy satisfaction.

Both planes mark two very different longterm strategies of both companies, and although technically the A350 should be seen as the competing Airbus model to the dreamliner, it was always the comparison of these two keydesigns, Dreamliner versus A380 - that fused debate, and attracted people's comparison.

Indeed.

As I always say - Take as much time as you need! I want a 100% properly working aircraft every time I fly!

I don't recall you saying anything like that concerning Airbus. I wonder why that is? :hmm:

Because I don't fly Airbus?

Besides - these are composite problems - something an airliner has never been built out of before. Its a learning curve.

More bad news for Boeing's Dreamliner: more delay, and one of three models possibly getting stopped.

Now the compensation demands will start coming in from airlines.

I'd settle for the legroom.

Subman1 talk about pot calling kettle black.
When airbus were having problems with the A380 you were all over it like a rash with criticisms.

Now with the 787 you are calming stating they should take their time.

Well the problems I've read about involve not properly working out the loads the wingbox has to take (elementary stuff IMO for an astute engineer), ie static loads instead of the variable dynamic loads.

Yes a complete aeroplane hasn't been made from composites before, but composites are not new. These problems should have been forseen.

Seems like both the 787 and the A380 are going to have more legroom. I hope so.
