Default V1.4

Quick question(and maybe a stupid one):
I was loading the game last night to do a little torpedo practice in the tutorial and noticed in the lower right corner of the screen there was a v1.4.

So that means the game is version 1.4. Do I need to install the 1.4b patch or is it a new enough version of the game with all of the patches?

Thanks.

This means it is patched to version 1.4.
No further action required, sharkbit

Thanks.

I was going to download the patch after I messed around with the tutorial and saw this when I was loading up to play and I figured I didn't need to do any of the patches, but I wanted to make sure.

I managed to waste 2-3 hours trying to install the 1.4b patch and being told that certain files were missing before I read in another thread about newer discs being ready patched! Things like this do tend to make you feel like a bit of a doofus.

I am afraid you install is sadly deficient without SH3CMDR and GWX 2.0

I'm working toward that. I want to figure out how to play a little bit first before I start adding mods.
From what I've read here GWX 2.0 is awesome and is a must have along with SH3CMDR. I'm trying to get my feet pretty wet first then adding those mods.

Plus, I have a couple of hardware issues I need to take care of first:
The biggest being my video card sucks. The game runs ok but the graphics are not near what they should be. I plan on getting a proper video card this week.

Another issue may be that my computer is getting a little long in the tooth. I meet the requirements to play the game and it seems to be running fine, although I do get some strange crashes at times, but I think they may be a result of the video card. I'm hoping that will clear up when I get the new card.
My biggest fear with the GWX mod (and others for that matter) is my computer will start to sulk if I put them on, but I'm going to try them anyway because they just seem too cool.
