Seems someone got tired of waiting for a decent Battlestar Galactica game, so they made their own, and its free:

see this looks great but I'm the type that would LOVE to command a BattleStar over a Viper/raptor

I have downloaded and tried this. Pretty good impression, definitely a game I will want to pick up later. I really liked the style, it's real sf material.

The final product has not been released, right now you can try a demo with some missions.

This is a full game, you dont need FS2 to play it.

A really interesting project!

Not crazy bout the latest incarnation... yeah, cylons that are humans, that don't know they're cylons, but maybe they're bombs. Wait a minute, maybe I'm a cylon?

But love the old school Battlestar Galactica!

I was much the same way until a friend lent me the first season and I've watched little else in the last few weeks. I'm up to the end of the second season now and I'll probably try and get season three next weekend. I'm pretty much hooked. I just love the fact that it is far darker than any other sci-fi series that i've watched. That alone makes up for the facts there are no robo-dog things this time around!

Going to dl this right now and have a look. I've downloaded two or three Bsg ships for X3 but i'm realling waiting for the Bsg:Cry of the gods mod for that game.

I sure am going to try this when it is finished (Right now there is only a playable demo). They sure got the style right and dont forget you get a full game for free.

And a tip for all who have problems installing: usually this has to do with sound drivers (OpenAL). I had to manually delete some dll's in C:\WINDOWS\System32. There are instructions how to do this somewhere in the net.

Played the first training mission so far. Definite potential with this one although I think I need to spend some time building a profile for my x52 as I can't imagine the default keyboard commands being much fun if a Basestar jumps into sight. Default Joystick settings are not too hot. (Throttle won't work and I can't roll either.)

One thing I really liked was the crackling / phasing effects during comms. Graphics are nice enough although there doesn't seem to be a cockpit - the HUD is works well though and the guns seem pleasantly meaty.
