Gentlemen,
I've played SH3 for a couple of years now and have greatly enjoyed it. Now I've retired and have got a little more time I thought I'd download GWX2 and have a ball , so to speak. However, left a donation and downloaded the files and the exe. file but could not install the GWX files into the game.( By the way I'm a big numptie as far as 'puters go ) a pop up said something was corrupted, So I replaced all the files by downloading a freebie set. These I successfully loaded into the game. I was so pleased with myself. But Can only play the academy, if I try to load either career or single missions the game loads about 85% and freezes. Ctrl/alt/delete does not get me out. The game is clean, has a 1.4 patch installed in the disc. ( The DVD is only 4 weeks old, I had issues with the original game ) Can anybody point me in the right direction?

1) What OS are you running?
VISTA can cause issues if not install correctly.
2) System specs?
GWX 2.0 ask much more from your system than default SH3
3) Error messages?
Some players here have tech experiance and can help you better answer your question if they know the problem.
4) Are there any other GWX Mod enabled or other non GWX offical mods?
If so disable them and try again. This way if its one of the mods you can find it by elimination.
5) After downloading GWX 2.0 did you verify its hash?

First load is always the ongest as creates the SH3 folder in My Docs

If it CTDs thats another issue but sounds as if still loading as you cant switch back to desktop while loading

First of all, tell to us your system specs. Then:

Did you verify the hash of the files?
Did you installed the GWX 2.0 in a fresh SH4 installation?

And the GWX takes to run a bit (more compared with the stock SH3). Try to disabled the mod "Merged campaign" with the JSGME included in the GWX installation.

Many thanks for your advise. It appears that I gave the game insufficient time to load. I left it and went for a shower, came back and there we were. so we are about to go on our first patrol.

i think youre going to like gwx....now you have something to occupy your free time...now your retired......

happy hunting and remember...gwx is a little more unforgiving than stock sh3
