Default GWX here I come:

Thats it! Im finally doing it. After playing SH3 off and on since it came out and visitng these forums all the time Im finally going to download GWX. After reading everything about it I can't resist anymore. Actually, I tried to do it once before, I downloaded 5 bins into the same folder and coulnd't figure out what to do from there.

But to day I was reading another thread where someone sent a guy a link for the GWX mod. The instructions on there seem simple to follow, so this time im not stopping untill I get it fully installed. I have a very fast internet connection at home so it shouldn't take long. Im at work now and I can't wait to go home

Removing your socks prior to loading for the first time is recommended.

Ok so I downloaded GWX2 via gameshadow yesterday. It was easy to do, all in one download. And wow,The music caught my attention first, bravo. I started a new career, picking a type II a in the first flotilla which is now in kiel. I see all the other ships, I see airplanes and other subs. OMG im not fighing the war solo anymore.

The sky and clouds look tweeked, for the better of corse, the water looked great. (BTW Ive upgraded the graphics card about a year ago for this game) I see that ships also have navigation lights on.

I made the mistake of going through the kiel canal and used up all my playing time. (yep, I have playing timelimits set by my wife because if she didn't set them I would play all day.)

Love the new conning tower emblems and the beauty added into the game......IT ...just....brings a tear to the eye

Question: On the type IIa i now have a giant metal loop on the left side of the conning tower, can someone tell me what that is? Thanks!

It's the Radio Direction Finder Loop antenna. It's controlled by that big wheel in the radioman's hands. They all have it, but in the stock game you only see it retracted into its housing well.

Kiel canal has an autoplotted in and out route
BEFORE moving in Kiel click on the navigator then patterns
Select Kiel out
Click navigator and return to course and away you go

I have set my land proximity to 128 TC through SH3commander so breeze through the kanal if I wish to do so

Glad you have it all working
