Default Olc Gui & Aob

Bear with me on this one as I'm noyt sure of all the terms I have often used my own lexicon.

When I am trying to calulate the AOB in OLC I calculate the range as shown (counting marks). I then use this range to calculate the AOB by counting the horsontal marks. When I line the range up with the ship length - I often end up with the "ship width in marks" giving me an AOB greater than 90° - e.g. If the ship is 15 from "lock on point" to bow/stern (30 wide in total) 15 marks corresponds to a value on the AOB ring greater than 90° - am I doing something wrong?

On occasion I even back up the range calculation using the God's eye mode

Remember to always take HALF the marks of ship length, from the middle line to the bow.

AvM, he is doing that, judging by his post.

BenG, it doesn't sound like you're doing anything wrong. Are you playing GWX? According to a PM I got from KL, a lot of the GWX2 masts are wrong. This may be your problem. What ship types does this happen with?

The mast heights will be fixed in GWX2.1 (and in the subsequent release of OLC GUI for GWX 2.1).

Edit1: I just noticed the last sentence of your post. That's odd. Unless some of the lengths are wrong as well... had better PM KL...

Edit2: How big of a margin of error are you getting?

Sorry to bring this one back from the dead - but I've been AFK for a bit (real life can be a pain at times :-))

Next attack I make (where I see this problem) I'll take some screen shots.
