Downloaded GWX3.0 last night and is a very good mod but was just wondering if the very slow load time is on my end? Or maybe I installed it wrong ar am missing something? All the other silent hunter games load just fine (3&4) but it seems as if its just taking its time while loading ..Thanks
![]() 3.2ghz processor windowsxp 1 gig RAM (about to be upgraded to 2) 512 Mb video card.. |

![]() Load times in GWX are somewhat long. (As they are in most big mods for SH3) We are limited in some ways by the design of the game engine. Must data must pass through a narrow 'bottleneck' during loading. The first time you load the game with GWX installed will be a bit longer than subsequent load times. Unfortunately, it isn't something that we can change. |

You should also feel the difference when you upgrade your system with another Gb of RAM. Especially if your motherboard supports dual ram channel which I think it does.

You have 1Gig,You need 2Gigs Of Ram
As SH3 Is 700mbs, GWX 3.0 Brings it up to 1,400 as far as I Know Or Thereabouts, Hence Your Slow Load Up. Welcome Aboard,2 Gigs Is Highly Recommended, As We Recommend in Multi-Play Mode ![]() |

Next year I'm planning to upgrade several stuff in hardware at once.
Currently runing Epox AMD Sempron 3400+ socket 754 I'm thinking on swaping to something like Asus or Foxcon motherboard + AMD Phenom X3 or X4 cpu with PCI-E and AGP SLI support (still having hopes to use my old GF6600 as secondary card ![]() and maybe ASUS GF 8500GT MAGIC PCIE 512MB 128-BIT; 2x1GB Kingston DDR2; Sata WD HDD 500 GB to support my old ATA 40 GB WD as secondary ![]() So that is my plan on upgrade next year, any comments ? :hmm: |

On the subject of load times, is it just me or does 3.0 load faster than previous versions? :hmm:

Welcome aboard makky
![]() load tims are slightly shorter because of the certain file modifications and the fact that some files became obsolescent as a result of some modifications and could be taken out. As already referred to by Kpt. everything filewise must be installed at once, unlike the newer game engine in SH4 which loads in chunks at a time dependant on what timeframe in the game your playing. |

could anyone write the "new loading time" ? It took about 7 minutes for gwx 2.1 to load on my PC, so I don't know whether to remove nygm and give gwx a try or don't bother with it.THX

I've noticed that on my machine (2.4 Ghz celeron and 1GB of RAM), the loading times with 3.0 have been reduced to 5-10 minutes, as opposed to upwards of 20 minutes. Definitely my favorite improvement.

Takes about 2 mins for 1st load then 3 and a half mins for second load
Though I have an additional 57 ships added into my GWX 3 install |
