Default New Vid Card & fan speed

I just got a new video card, went from 6800 GT > ( NEW Mother Board w/PCIe ) x1900xtx > 7900 GTO, to a BFG 8800 GTS, on sale round $309 US PLUS rebate, an the fan goes from Idle to full speed gaming. I tried NTune to regulate the fan speed an it doesn't keep the fan setting i load up, everytime I reboot it goes back to AUTO an the fan cranks up. Plus Ntune started scanning my system every 2 minutes an putting a load on the CPU so I un-installed it an I'm looking for a program to regulate the fan speed. With the ATI card there were several progam to set the fan speed of the GPU fan but I need one for a Nvidia card that works with a 8800 series card.

THNX.........

Check Guru3d.com

I believe there is a program there that is added to the Nvidia factory card set up program loaded with the Nvida drivers. I know there is one for checking the heat on the vid cards. At least you can see if the card is really running hot so as to make the fan run high. If that is the case, then some additional cooling is needed.

Card doen't run hot; 46' C Idle vs 64' to 66' C load.

I don't think I need the fan running @ 100% @ 66' C. If the card goes to 80' C then 100% fan speed. My x1900xtx use to run @ 80' C + b4 I put on the VF900 fan.

I have good case cooling, 2 120 mm fan + the power supply fans.

CPU idles @ 32' C an I've never seen it above 44' C under load.

Default Danger, danger, Will Robinson

nTune sucks... hard. Uninstall it immediately! I'm not kidding... It's been known to seriously hose systems, and can even cause hardware damage.

What you want is a program called Rivatuner... which can be had here

It may look daunting at first glance, but check out this tutorial and I think you'll find it's easy enough to use.

Try Riva Tuner, it's not just an overclocker, it also includes fan speed control. My Ati card hs a fan control issue. and I use Riva Tuner strictly for the fan control

I tried Rivatuner but it doesn't have a GOOD fan control, it can only set MINIMUM fan speed, PLUS, it doesn't support the driver version I'm using. The Fan speed in low level control isn't there but was there for my 7900....

I think it may be up to a bios edit as stated in this post, http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1260590 , It has somethin to do with sloppy thermal control....
