Default Night Surface Attacks (Trigger Maru)

Just finished Fluckey's Thunder Below!, and am quite fired up about trying night surface attacks. Anyone having any success with those, particularly with Trigger Maru (I have 1.7.6)?

Yes, in cloudy weather I can close to under 2000 yards on single merchants at night. Sometimes even to 1000 yards. I usually try to keep my wake small and the bow spray small by slowing down as I close, don't know if this helps or not though.

I have had lots of success with night surface attacks with TM. I usually close with the target at ahead two thirds, when range gets to between 3500 and 3000 I flood down to aroud 25 to 28 feet to lower my profile. I have been able to close to under 2000 yards and got off some nice accurate shots. Never tried it against warships though, would immagine you couldn't get as close.

Default Last cruise

I had a really exciting and successful surface attack against a convoy of two tankers, another merchie and four escorts. I closed to 3000 yards, chickened out and launched torpedoes against the two tankers, sinking them both. Good thing tankers are so big!

I was chased, of course, dove and worked on developing stupid cutie tricks, which took out two of the escorts.

I was flooded to 30' during the approach. I submerge until the diesels quit (31') and then come up a foot so they start. That's my depth. I approached the convoy at 10 knots, ahead full in that configuration. If you have a heart condition or are subject to fainting I suggest you avoid night surface battles.
