Probably this is not SHIII specific but I think many of you are generally fond of generally naval warfare.

Yep, it's been around a few years. Have they made any progress lately? Haven't seen anything new.

Yes joined them to have a good look etc but doesnt impact SH3 as I believe its a multiplayer ship ie different people controlling different areas of the same ship
Last time I looked there wasnt a lot of forward movement Steve

Hmm. I didn't think it was a game at all, just a bunch of guys getting together to build computer-drawn models. Who knows?

Still, as a huge Dreadnought fan I loved looking at what they were doing.

I consider myself a lucky guy having actually stepped and looked one up real close.

I'm talking about HMS Averof, the Greek pocket-drednaught of the Aegean Sea, eternal flagship of the Greek Navy, which passed WWI, WWII (it's crew defied the scuttle order by the HQ and risked sailing from Athens to Egypt without any air coverage whatsoever) and is now accepting visitors as a museum.

Check http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=93329

That guy has some really cool plans of WWI/WWII ships. Of interest to this community:

Default Pre-dreadnought Georgios Averof

I happen to be from greece and live near averof's visiting place. I visited averof both as a civilian and as an NCO of the greek navy (for watch duty). Averof has a long history assosiated with interesting battles such as the ones in lemnos and elli. You can find some info on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naval_Battle_of_Lemnos. Now regarding the dradnought project the guy working on it has done a very interesting modelling of the instrument utilised by royal navy for naval artillery ranging and direction. It is a rather complicated instrument but trust me it works pretty accurately (tried it in the simulator). Also as far as the plans mentioned besides submarines it also has some interesting ships of the WWII era such as Prinz Eugen (A hipper-class heavy cruiser with history tied to the Bismarck) and many other.

Edit: It is not HMS Averof but rather HS Averof (Since it never had anything to do with the RN)

Go to their site and ask them. I haven't been there in ages.
