Default The Problem with "some posts here"- Too many Doomsayers around here

I don't beleive that I have ever seen in one place so many Doomsayers. An example, every year since I have been born there has been at least one major book predicting the downfall of the USA in the 70's, in the 80's, in the 90's, and in the 00's. Now I'm seeing the crash of the stock market, or whatever. How many people here know that there are so many checks and balances in the stock market these days that it is IMPOSSIBLE to have another Great Depression or the way it played out? Yes, you could have the decline of the US of A, but it cannot be an overnight thing like it was in the 30's. It will be a long slow gradual decline if it could happen at all.

If a Great Depression were possible, 9/11 would have caused it. Nothing happened. THe market dropped as expected, but then made a massive reversal in the following months and gained it all back and then some.

There is only one real way to knock out America quickly - Nuke war.

Now can we get back to some constructive General Thread topics like BEER???!!! I'm so bored with all the Doomsayer crap.

-S

PS. There is something to be said for the Doomsayer authors - they are smart because you bought their book and they got rich off it! :p
