Default Complete Enigma Sim

Hi;

I don't know how many of oyu know this, but there is a complete free enigma simulator out (not the flash version). It's available here:

http://users.telenet.be/d.rijmenants/en/enigmasim.htm

It's all in German, but it allows you to configure the machine in the same way it was used (including M-3 and M-4 Enigmas). Additionally it has a very nice frontend that lets you experience the machine both accustically and visually. And of course it works :-)

Hmmm. Let me dream. Wouldn't it be nice if we had codebooks and an Enigma like this implemented in the subs and we would need to decrypt each message from BdU (either by doing it ourselves or letting the rasio man do it?). Actually... it would be enough to have Enigma crypted messages from BdU and you can decrypt them externally...

Well I'd tell you I like the idea of being the Kaleun out there and act like it. I don't let Bernard approach my periscope, nor do I tell him how to use the toilets flush, so I'd better leave my radioman to his job, or there's gonna be some mutiny in the end. I mean, it's not like he has an animated and exciting life apart from the time he's got his earphones on, has he? Should I go on and take all the fun out of his miserable life?

I'm sorry.
All the files on my ZIP are coming with a _ in the place of the last letter of the file type, for example, all the JPG files are showing JP_ .
I've managed to get some of them to work by adding the right letter (like adding the "F" to PD_)
Is this the way you did it? Because I'm finding some file types whose last letter I cannot guess
Is there any other link to download that enigma sim?
Thanks!

That's correct -- but there is a setup.exe which will install everything, no need to rename anything

Hm, maybe it has not the right icon because it's in a zip folder. Just unzip into any directory and execute setup... that should work.

Thanks Snwcrsh for the info and link. I can use this in my group for realistic coded messages for fun.

Sincerely,
