Default GWX 2.0 sounds

Greetings! I had to reinstall GWX 2.0 today. I had to reinstall the whole setup - SH$, patch to 1.4 b and then install GWX 2.0. Before I had to reinstall, my previous version of GWX 2.0 included a ringing sound for the telegraph when I would change speed. The version I just installed does not have that. Am I missing something here? Did I perhaps install a certain mod before that I forgot about? Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance!!

GWX2 should have that...

are you running windows vista?

have you downloaded any other mods with GWX2?

No, I'm running Windows XP. It's strange, the version I was playing this morning had it. Then I reinstall and follow the SAME steps I did when first installing GWX 2.0, and now there are no telegraph sounds.

i think the telegraph sounds are inhibited when submerged or on silent running.

is this the case... try ordering speed changes on the surface with silent running off and see if that makes a difference

I first noticed it when I was on the surface, leaving my dock in Kiel. The sounds are completely missing. Anyone have any ideas? Very disappointing

I found that you get a lot more sounds such as the telegraph ringing when I swithed the speech to German instead of English.

Default Opposite Problem!

I had the reverse problem. My initial install of GWX 2.0 had no engine telegraph sound. I didn't know it was supposed to be there, never having heard it.

I had to reinstall a couple of weeks ago for a different problem. Lo and behold! Now the sim works fine, and I have an engine telegraph bell (clicks when in silent running mode).

This won't help you, except to know that a reinstall "fixed" my problem!

Exactly.

For English-speaking players, GWX is best experienced using GERMAN SPEECH and English text/substitles.

i remember day one opening the box on release date... i popped the CD into the drive and set all the settings to exactly how i played SH2. i rmember the english in SH2 had a thick german accent... i assumed it would be similar in SH3.

First patrol out these guys are speaking like harvard english students with a rather robotic sounding english dialect.

Nope... this isnt going to work for me i said to myself

switched it to German language and english text andplayed it that way since day one... it has made all the difference!
