Default Grid AM34 and patrol times - bug?

No mods installed; latest official patch only. European DVD version. WinXP, P4/2.5GHz/ATI9600. Tower case in a light grey.

I was assigned AM34, went there, patrolled it for 24hrs, but didn't get the credit. Hung around for another couple of days - still it was shown as an incomplete objective.

Then I noticed that the AM34 grid - and others in the same column of AM - seemed wider than the others, and the text "AM34" was further to the right than the centre. So, I patrolled the eastern half only, and got the credit.

Anyone else had this?

It was the tower case in light grey that caused the problem John, any other colour and you would have been alright

I had the same problem, after switching from light gray case to black; bingo problem solved.

Yes, I had that grid problem too. Don't remember where exactly
but after I didn't get credit, I noticed that the numbers and sizes
were off-center from the map. When I sent a message out, it recorded a different grid # than what was listed on the map. I think its only that way in that area, around AN, I think.....

PS. I have a silver case (aluminum)

Could it be that you confused the GMT line with a grid line?

No, AM34 is further west than that.

Now that you mention it, I think it was somewhere in the AM
grid, not AN....

Sorry to dredge up this zombie thread, but I too patrolled an AM grid (AM01) but didn't get credit for either entering it OR patrolling it. I entered at the NE corner and transited to the SW corner, and never got the clipboard to change my patrol status.

I assume you checked your mission orders screen (F8) and this showed that you haven't entered the patrolling area? If so it could be because of the game fonts, they are very poor to read, especially when using the hires mod, I have to get out the magnifying glass for a close look! I was sent to a grid once that was totally over land, wonder why I didn't get my renown!!

Nope, a subsequent search on "AM01" revealed a bug, in that the game will only recognize a grid with a zero for the 3rd digit if you first put it in as say "AM1" in SH Commander. No biggie as I have plenty of renown (and that bonus will be gone in GWX 2.1 anyway).

I had the same problem but what I did was patroled more to the right of the rectangle. It seems to be off the map grid abit.:hmm: That seem to fix the problem.
