Default Still learning.........

Hi All,

I shot a spread of 3 torpedoes at a big, scary Destroy last night. In 15ft seas and the lowest possible running depth they all missed. Of course they all could have missed wide but, my last ship, a Modern Composite European Freighter, all the torps ran under the keel in 10ft seas, shallowest running depth again. Is it a waste of torpedoes to even try to shoot a shallow draft Destroyer in high seas?

Also, sometimes I get the red stopwatch hand, that, i think indicates the impact time. Sometimes I don't get it. What is that stopwatch mark Dependant of?

Those conditions pretty much require you try with the magnetic exploder despite the high failure rate. I've been able to get hits under those conditions. The stopwatch is an estimate based on the math. There is no GPS or wire link from the torp to the computer. Small changes to the target our yourself from the weather can and will cause a margin of error. All your work aiming, setting angles and depth and firing involve margins of error which you must accept.

Thanks,

I'm slowly developing some loose guidlines to follow.............I figure, anything with a draft less than 3 or 4 will be will be pretty tough to hit in the highest seas.

dont forget early war mk14's often ran 10ft deeper than the setting so your torpedo set to run at 5ft may end up running 15ft or more
