Default Dave (LEOVAMPIRE) is still watching

Last night as I was returning to Pearl, the game dumped me out of TC and offered me a truly spectacular sunset. I stopped my engines and just floated there for a couple of minutes, taking in the sheer beauty of the ROW sunset I was witnessing.

Whatever your religious or spiritual beliefs, I have never seen as beautiful a sunset as this in the game, and there was no reason for the game dumping me out of TC. There were no messages for me, and no ships or planes near....just me and the stunning sunset.

Thanks, Dave. I know it was you.

Can't blame him. If that had happened to me, I know I'd just stare at the screen with tears streaking my face. I can feel goosebumps building up just by reading TDK's description.

It simply never crossed my mind. It's difficult to explain, but during this experience it's like I wasn't playing Silent Hunter 4. I know it doesn't make much sense, but there you have it.

After a few minutes of staring at the sunset, I set the engines to ahead one third and watched the sun set in real time...something I've never done before.

The experience reminded me of when I went to Bettles, Alaska, many years ago and observed the Aurora Borealis.

A unique experience that I will always cherish.

You should see a Caribbean sunset m8. Leo would have loved it. In fact all I have to do is grab a chair and sit in the backyard.

Nice screenshot Rockin if only I could get a screenshot like that. (my system runs SH4 at a whopping 10 FPS)

Thank you very much, TDK. I appreciate very much to see that I'm not the only one still thinking a lot about Leo...
I'm sure a few more people at Subsim will be touched by Dave's mind, witnessing an astonishing sunset here and there...
Thanks again for your post, TDK.

Respectfully,

Alex

You're welcome, Alex. The sunset I experienced on 01/10 was unlike any I have ever seen.

As I was less than a minute into a saved game when the game jumped out of TC, I went back and reloaded the game in order to try and reproduce the sunset....I was unable to do so.

It shows very well that it was... Hmm, some people would say "magic", others would say "a miracle".
I can't wait to get my new rig to play SH4 and be able to enjoy this mod admiring Dave's work. SH4 is not only a graphically improved version of SH3, I know... But as there is no sunrise/sunset in SH3...

Thank you again, Dave.
