I take you're based in Kiel, if so then head to the nearest port (friendly), collect your renown and then head to Kiel in the next mission.

You can always click the ESC button and "teleport" yourself in your home base (only if you don't play at 100% realism).

hi, yeah thought of that, except im just off coast of ireland have got all of uk to get round yet before a friendly port appears and im nearly on fumes - scrap it and start again or drive round at 3 knots that will take 20 days!!!

Don't worry about the channel, it's a piece of cake. 3000 Metres off Calais, decks awash in full dark. Works inbound and outbound. Haven't been killed yet (yet).

With his patrolgrid being BE96 I'm guessing he has a type VII-something. So he shouldn't be traveling at that speed either. I don't know exactly but type-VII optimum speed is a bit higher.

Undercovergeek: Check for post during the past weeks or so about fuel consumption. You'll find enough about the propper speed.

I'd go for this option, try to get to Heligoland and start your next patrol from there.
If you cannot reach there, just "teleport" back to home port.

My experience has been ahead 1/3 for a VIIb cruise speed for a patrol. Have made it the long route around the North of Britain to BE96 and back. Since you are low on fuel do as suggested and run the channel. Dive every 16 hrs and run on batteries for 8 hrs to conserve fuel. When in the channel don't go deeper than 14 meters.

I hope this helps you, good luck.
