almost rammed a carrier

I was just returning from the solomon sea to brisbane.
We were steaming at full because we were eager to get home and i got a friendly
contact report.
I was reading some notes and just hit TC a few times and the next time i look on the screen i'm inside a large taskforce:hmm:
I change to the bridge and 'oh sh*it', the screen is filled from left to right with a fleet carrier.
God that was a close thing
The taskforce was a mighty one, 2 fleet carriers, 3 escort carriers, some cruisers, tankers and dd's and all were shouting at me
I allready got orders to report at the port admirality.

I love this game.

Yeah, that TC can sometimes be a killer if you are not careful.

Are there really penalties for threatening friendly forces? I haven't tried to do that (since it makes no sense to), but if that's included, it's a great touch!

Only when you sink a friendly ship (renown loss), at least it was in SH3, but i suppose it's still so in SH4.

You get a big yelling at by the admiral. And if you sink something important like a carrier they can you.

Almost like the time in SH1 where I was making an approach on a light carrier. Somehow I got confused with the various scope magnifications and well...I lost my scope when it hit the carrier. CVL=1-Periscope=0. I'm sure the Admiral was just ecstatic over that move.

Though I haven't ran into a convoy, I did beach the boat once on a small island that didn't show up at the zoom level I used to set the course. We were sailing along happily at 256TC when all of a sudden just about everything got damaged ...
