Default Possible to change SD radar information?

I know that an SD radar scope/box in the command room is probably out of the question, but I was wondering if it would be possible to mod the game such that the Watch Officer (WO) tells you the number of air contacts and their respective distances, rather than the bearing, which is not realistic, anyway. He could give updates evey 15 or 20 seconds so you have a good idea if they're heading right at you and how fast.

I'm not a modder, but I have seen a lot of work put into making buttons and adding new functions, like extending the SD radar mast. The data has to exist in the game. It's just a matter of displaying it.

I figured that since it is possible to create a weather button to display the weather data, that the data for local aircraft could be displayed as text, as well.
