Basic.cfg 'basic' question.

Ok guys, I'm having a serious brain fart here.

Looking to make a simple edit for end patrol/neutral renown, and get another 110 shells for my deck gun etc. Made the edits and load the carrer from base/bessel. And the edits don't stick. Basic.cfg is back to normal, or what 1.03 has.
Haven't added any mods for two patrols now.
C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\GWX\data\Cfg (location from multish3 install).
Using Commander to load the game but haven't rolled back since two patrols ago (for a jsgme mod).

I take it you rolled back commander before adding your new cfg ?

Altering renown for returning to base doesnt matter - it doesnt work ingame
Never has

Do your changes to shells show at all ?

I have gotten the changes to 'stick' only if the basic.cfg in GWX matches the basic.cfg in the Commander !Backup folder.
Haven't rolled back, perhaps I should have before editing then Commander would have copied this cfg.

Yep
Commander doesnt have a basic cfg by default
It copys when you load the game thru commander
By not rolling back SH3commander is loading the one it has overwriting your new one

Tis why its important to roll back esp if you are planning changes
I always rollback now as a matter of course - esp as it reminds me to

I have screwed up more install by not rolling back CMDR. The new one has saved me from being an idiot more than once. If you haven't upgraded to CH3CMDR 2.7.. yet, you should as it reminds you to do it every time you exit the game.

If your adding an extra 110 shells, don't forget to adjust the AMMO+SLOTS in the Basic CFG file correspondingly also

jimbuna; Interesting, I found the 'SLOTS' line your speaking of but Im wondering what that edit does? Just changing the ammount gives the boat the ammo.
The ammo was originaly 220 and slots of 10, slots # should actually be 11 by a division of 20. So then 340 would be 17, 360 18 and so on. Unless I am not looking at this correctly.

It's hard to explain, but let's say your giving your boat 500 HE shells.

Change the AMMO_SLOTS to 500 also

Not 100% sure why you change so much.....just change the max ammo per slot to 500
