Default Krav Maga

Ok this is what i know:

Invented by the isrealis as a form of unarmed combat hand to hand, and classed as self dence training its used by special forces all over the world including spetsnaz, SO19, MI5/6, police enforcement officers USN Seals ect so on so forth.

what i want to know is anyone here studied it if so whats thier opinions on it, part of my new years resolution is to learn a new martial art and i chose this one as a first choice but i need back ground info.

anyone help?

cheers

I would learn the drunken fist because you can start practicing in the first hours of the new year.

I know of krav maga, but thats about it, personally i prefer Systema to it.

Anyway Krav Maga seems like a very efficent at neutralizing oponents and wouldnt be a bad pick for self defence.

As far as I know krav maga isn't so much 'unarmed' as using whatever you have to hand as a weapon.

I know it's s not a sport, rather being about taking someone out as fast and permanently as possible, using anything from a chair leg to a stabbing them in the face with a biro. I can't imagine it being fun.

Krav Maga is a brutal, no-nonsense self-defense system. It's a decent martial art to study, imo.

I've studied Shotokan karate for over five years, so I prefer it to any other. But Krav Maga is very, very good.
