Default Is my GWX2.0 broken or....

Just wondering if maybe i have a busted install or something...

My load times are massive since installing gwx2, theyve gone up from about 2-3mins with nygm2.5 to closer to 20mins for careers and 10-15mins for single missions.

+if im using a typ9 in a career the load times shoot up to around 3hours!!

GWX2.0 is damn good so im willing to put up with waiting if i have to.

What are your specs mate? GWX takes a loooong time to load that's a fact.

Anything under 1 GB ram is asking for trouble!

System Specs are required mate.

GWX 2.0 loading will take approx: 5mins, with the following specs:

P4 3.4GHZ
1 GB Ram

The rest is irrelevant when loading times are involved (expect maybe HDD speed). If you are even close to this, you should not be taking 15 - 20 mins.

What will increase load times is TEXTURES as part of 3rd party mods. SH3 will load all textures in the TNORMAL folder before the game even starts.

Also, make sure your HDD is defragged.

You can improve the loading times by turning off the Indian Ocean part of the campaign!

You are somewhat correct.

Default campaign files in GWX 2.0 do not include the Indian Ocean or Black Sea.

If you choose to sail in the Black Sea or Indian Ocean, you MUST enable the respective Black Sea or Indian Ocean campaign file optional mods... which will greatly reduce loading times as only the campaign files for the region you are sailing in are loaded.

If you LEAVE the Black Sea or Indian Ocean, you must remember to disable the optional campaign mods for the region you were sailing in... to reactivate the default files.

If you don't want to bother with remembering all that... and you don't mind long load times, you can enable the "GWX - Merged Campaign" and ALL operational areas will be loaded.

Not trying to boast, but we did a vast amount of research and development of the GWX campaign... and it is truly massive and historically accurate as a result. GWX models the ENTIRE U-boat War... not just the Atlantic and adds the two operational areas mentioned above. Special thanks to Bigboywooly and all involved.

Im running on a...
3.2GHz/1gig ram/radeon9800xt.

I have a couple of additional mods running too, some higher res concrete textures and a few different sound files.

Maybe i`ll go and grab some more system ram at the weekend, that should help...

flakmonkey,
The additional 1Gb of RAM should make a vast difference. It did for me.

Im running GWX2 default campaign on a oldish PC 2.6ghz, 2gigs of ram and 6600GT 128ram. GWX2 runs fine in game, but i do have a very long load time 3 to 5min when starting a patrol, i just figured it was cause its a heavy mod and is loading lots of stuff, then again the CPU is only a 2.6 that could be why. GWX1.3 loaded quicker.

But it dont bother me, gives me some time to go off and make a coffee
