Achtung hilfe

I have just recently upgraded GWX 1.02 to 1.03 and now everytime I try to leave port I get a sh3.exe error with the kernel.dll file and sometimes ntdll.dll at fault. I have tried to play single missions as well but it seems to be affecting the campaign mode most of all. Has anyone got any suggestions as to what the problem might be? I really don't want to lose this career. I use SH3 Commander 2.7 + SH3Weather 1.5 and various mods that are 1.03 compatible. I also use XP Pro Media Center Edition. My rig is a Athlon 3800 X2 with 1 gig of ram and a Nvidia 7900 GT video card. All drivers are up to date.

Please help as this is driving me batty!

So multiple views but no one can help? Things have got considerably worse! If I want to do the tried and trusted method of uninstall/reinstall then I'm out of luck because I can't find my SH3 DVD anywhere and I have no backups.

Ah crap... it's not looking good for Luger.

I'd remove some of those minor mods you are using, test it with Commander 2.7 + SH3Weather 1.5 + GWx only. Could work irunno

Pssst... you know GWX 2.0 is out aye? GOGO!

Yeah, but he needs a clean install before upgrading. That would require his DVD.

Purchase a new disc and follow the instructions below.....Or even bettter, upgrade to GWX 2.0

1.Uninstall SH3 via Windows' "Add/Remove programs"
2. Open Windows Explorer and:
- *delete* the folder where you had installed SH3
- *delete* the \My Documents\SH3 folder
3. Reinstall SH3
4. If your SH3 did not come with patch v1.4b already included, install patch v1.4b. Ensure you install the patch that corresponds to your copy of SH3 (Download/DVD/EMEA/US)
5. OPTIONAL: Copy and paste this "clean" install as a backup to avoid the need to follow steps 1-3 if your game becomes corrupt in future
6. Download theGWX.exe and the five .bin files. While there grab the v1.03 patch
7. Run GWX.exe and follow the installation prompts
8. Run GWX103.exe and follow the installation prompts
9. SH3 COMMANDER USERS: Download SH3Commander and download the GWX 1.02+ Cfg files for SH3 Commander and unzip the contents DIRECTLY into your SH3 Commander\Cfg folder.

Thanks Jim I must have seen those instructions a thousand times on this BB.

I downloaded GWX 2.0 just the other day and it's sitting on my external HD but I want to continue Luger's career with 1.03 cos I don't know if you can continue campaigns with the new GWX you see?

Must find DVD first though.

I'm afraid careers can not be ported over from 1.03 to 2.0

Good Hunting

That's what I thought Jim. Good news I found my DVD so I'm gonna try the uninstall/reinstall trick. Something must have gone wrong when I patched 1.02 because the game was running like a dream before that. Happy hunting to you too!

Heh I just tried my patched to 1.4 'clean' installation of SH3. My god what a difference from GWX! It's like going from Windows XP back to Windows 95 again - runs smooth as butter but oh so simple!

Still it brings back fond memories with the music running in the background, coloured contacts et al. I remember my first super mod was IUB. Anyone remember that one? And then Grey Wolves came along and that was the end of that.
