I've installed the new GWX 2.0 (mucho kudos you GWX crew!!! Many many thanks to all involved!) and was really excited to see in the manual that the Type IIA has had one torpedo removed, to give the historical armament of 5 eels and a deck AA gun.
But now I've started the career (without completing all the training exercises - whoever included that AA training is obviously a sadist! ![]() Also, there's a fairly psychadelic nav map in the command room... I presume this is a graphics card thing (for those that know about such wizardry, my card's an nVidia 8500GTSuper 512MB/128bit/DDR2). I think so, my install only has 5 eels in the Type IIs, did you wipe your old install completely (zapping the SH3 folder in my docs as well) and start fresh with a new install of SH3 ptached up to 1.4? If you installed over GWX 1.03 that might explain it...:hmm:

You're not alone, I've seen this on my old Radeon 9800, but not on my current GTS 8800 now, so might be a ATI driver thingie? Never bothered me much though, AFAIK it disappeared when reloading a game or switching to another station before going back to the control room...
Maybe try F5 and than F2... :hmm:

I think the map problem already appeared in vanilla SHIII.

my nav map does a similar thing only it turns completely black, this is easily fixed by right clicking on the navigation offier (or weapons officer whichever map is messing up) then view the map from his point of view, then return to the command room via another right click.
map fixes itself until the error is encountered again.

Ok, so I've done a complete reinstall and I've now only got 5x torps for the Type IIa. Thanks for your advice... no idea what I did differently this time, but it's certainly me...
![]() [EDIT] The psychadelic map's also been fixed now... Must have been something left over as part of the re-install...
