Default help...

Automatic updates took place on my computer recently and it made a huge problem... the internet on my main computer is messed up. whenever i try to access my internet this comes up "iexplore.exe - Application Error The instruction at "0x437f966" refrenced memory at "0x47ce9d94". The memory could not be "written" please help

You could try getting hold of Firefox or another browser and then doing another windows update via that, to see if that corrects the problem. You should be able to download the install file for another browser on another computer, stick it on a USB drive and get it onto yours. I had to do a similar thing recently, and doing this sorted it.

Is there anything i can do that wont involve transfering data from one computer to another?

Install firefox as Chock said and just re-download IE7.

Although getting firefox if you don't already have a copy would be a problem...

Otherwise you can always try safe mode or going back to an old restore point.

(press f8 on startup)

Yes i got firefox, it is free for lifetime right? and also I have triend downloading a ship mod with it, how do you get it to save the file to "documents and settings"?

Umm as far as I know it's just 'save as' and then browse to where you want it to go. I'm using ff at work so i'll just do a quick check.. all I know is it should be pretty easy.

Ahh I see... FF uses that stupid download manager thing.


ok..

click on tools on your toolbar.. then downloads.. or (simply ctrl j) this will bring up the dl manager

on the bottom of it it says "all files downloaded to.." and it should say desktop... click the desktop and you can browse for a new destination.
