Warning 56ks - pics inside.
My holidays (remember we are enjoying summer here in the southern hemisphere) ended last wednesday, after an horrifying (a heavy-heavy thunderstorm in the last half hour of the trip - including landing!) flight from Rio (Brazil) to Buenos Aires. Besides that, Ilha Grande (a semi vixen island 130 km south of Rio) was a wonderful trip, one that wife and me enjoyed a lot. Sadly, I´m back for work. Some pics with comments (I must advise that I was reading "Inmediate Action", by former SAS Andy McNab in the trip, and I´m a big "Lost" fan too. Keep it in mind for the comments) Let´s go. Arriving to the island. The island hasn´t cars or big tracks. The only means to moving is by foot (small tracks into the jungle, from town to town) or by boat. As always, I spent half my maritime trips doing FC calculations (angle of the bow, speed, distance, so on). Pointless, for sure, because I´ll bet that I can disable one of those only by the flak gun, why to spend a torpedo on it? ![]() Me on the white sands of Lopez Mendes beach, one of the finest of Brazil. This pic is photoshopped: To avoid embarrasing the sedentary members of the forum, I reduced my muscles and chest and I added some flotation devices around my belly. ![]() One of the proof of the existence of "others" in the island. Look at the name of the boat... ![]() The islands has plenty of colonial buildings, like this ancient church. The jungle surrounded the place. The people on the background are "others". ![]() I don´t recall if this one is Figment from Epcot Center or a bad gremlim, leftout from the movie. Anyway, the picture was taken in a track really into the jungle. The little rodent / monkey / freak creature was roaming there with a couple of friends (or I least I assume they are his friends, maybe they are relatives). ![]() The view from my hotel window. The brazilian mainland in the background. No more comments... ![]() One of the beaches. First, I´m not the beached whale in the bottom right. Second, as you can guess, someone travelled a lot from Alaska. Lastly, and asking the question in advance: "No, I didn´t climb the ladder and get a coconut" ![]() The end, hope you like it!
