Is it just me, or fighting some rogue idiot government in ArmA is just not the same as some rogue Soviet general as found in the original OFP series? THe story was just better in the original OFP. Also, the oppurtunity to steal more equipment and use it against the enemy was present in OFP. This is missing in ArmA. I mean, I stole some T-72's a couple times, but for the most part it was a boots on the ground campaign.
Is it just me? Or is it even harder to sneak into enemy lines in ArmA? Some of the missions I find to be somewhat impossible. The side mission to sneak in and blow up enemy armor I found to be near impossible. You couldn't get near that base with all the foot traffic without being spotted, and the enemy didn't even have NV goggles. The sunsets were sometimes better in OFP too. I remember the dark red sky. Anyway, the Harrier is fun to fly in ArmA. Too bad you never get to use it in campaign. ![]() I guess ArmA is not bad for an engine, but the campaign needs much work. The ending is probably those most anti-climax of all time. Of course, I understand this was a rushed campaign to get it out the door before the doors actually closed due to lack of funds. Hopefully the update will be what I am looking for in ArmA. Just blowing off my disappointment with the ending in ArmA. -S PS. THe Harrier is the ultimate explore the islands aircraft. Take it out, and head out into the world. You can land it pretty much anywhere and it only takes a small strip to get it off the ground - any short stretch of road will do. |
