Default Mr Sonar, I presume?

OK...I am really giving sonar a real try, and combing through the forums for info. But, I think I am stumped. I am at 20m, and have set up a quick mission where a known ship crosses my bow. My sonarman calls the contact, which is fine. I then go to the sonar station to spin some dials and confirm his findings. I can spin the heads, but get no "special sound" of churning screws at the bearing that was initially called (or any bearing, for that matter).

Sonar on the fritz/better operator,sensor qualified,it happens!

Sonar doesn't function till electrics propulsion come on line,& that is 40ft.now are you saying 20m,that should be PD,& still no sound ? We had a visual once with no sonar contact on same bearing although the ship was at anchor/adrift.War is Hell,if you know she is afloat, put her down mate

Try a little deeper. Sound conditions at the surface can be squirrelly.

Default sonar

I know, I should just put her down...but I am setting this mission up as a test to get better an full manual targeting and sonor ops. Again, my sound guy calls a contact, but it doesnt register on my scopes. I spin it and spin it and nothing....even the data on the scratchpad doesnt show up. Strange thing, in all of the screens and vids Ive watched, the scratchpad is to the right of the equipment in the sonar screen...I am running 1.3, and its to the left.

Does it have something to do with the fact that I created this scenario in the mission editor? Is there a parameter I am missing? Does it have something to do with the boat or year?

I select a specific sub in the mission editor creation, but when I go to start the mission in teh quick mission screen, i can now select a boat? Is one overiding the other?

Default realism

I also have "realistic sensors" checked in terms of realsim...does that effect what I am (not) seeing?
