I have SH 4 installed on my C Drive. It has ROW, Trigger, and NSM. I have a free D drive and would like to install a clean copy of SH 4 with RFB, Die Slowly, Improved Campaign Layers and some others. Is that possible? Each time I try a new install it says I have to uninstall the original.

It's not possible. Among other things, Windows Installer has system wide information stored in the registry relating to what programs you have installed. In addition, the design of SH4 itself almost certainly relies on registry entries that are system wide and not designed to exist side-by-side.

Best way is to totally uninstall, then re-install and patch to 1.3 so that you have a totally clean vanilla install. Then copy the entire folder from Program Files/Ubisoft to wherever you want your copy(ies) and use a neat little programme called Multi-SH4 ( I think ) to sort out Save Game and career record issues. You can install JSGME for each copy and Mod as you see fit. Just put shortcuts to the correct SH4.exe and corresponding JSGME on to your desktop.
I have a standard SH4 and a separate TM set up. For SH3 I have Vanilla, GWX, NYGM and War Aces. |
