U-Boat Exhaust when running on the surface

A request from the bilges. With Mods like the excellent Gray Wolves, now awaiting 1.04, would it be possible to add the following real effect into SH3?

I recall reading in a historical book that when U-Boats trailed convoys from astern, there was a shimmer that was generated by the exhaust, that combined with the small view of the U-Boat, acted as a form of camouflage, in that it made it very difficult for a visual identification. Obviously radar was unaffected, but from what I remember reading it was a very effective side effect of the heat of the diesel exhaust, which was utilised by captains to allow them to run on the surface, rather than expending electric power from using the batteries, if they had to run at a reasonable speed whislt submerged, to maintain contact. I believe it was while waiting for other boats to catch them so as to form a wolf pack.

I continue to be amazed at how individuals continue to produce such excellent improvements to the game.
