Anti shipping operations..(help)

Well this is my first patrol on this career. Departed from Pearl Harbor in 1941 with a Tambor class sub. First they sent me outside of Tokyo to patrol. I sank one freighter (chopped it in the middle with 2 torps

). Finally, they sent me to hold position south east of okinawa and conduct anti shipping operations. Which means I guess "Stay there until you sink at least one Jap ship!". Well thats fine by me, but I got only 30% fuel, and each day I stay in position, I lose approximately 1% of fuel. Which means that if I dont find a ship to sink within 10 days I wont make it to home

. I use RSRDC which uses real shipping lines. But no ship appears. Shall I ignore the orders and head for Midway to refuel and then bakc to pearl harbor? If i do that I will end my career there i think. Or maybe I can start a new career again... any suggestions please?
