Default SH3 ships size issue

Hi all.
I'm new here and i have a question.
I'm playing SH3 with Grey Wolves installed and there is a thing that bothers me. That thing is the size of ships modelled. All the time i have the filling, that those ships are designed for midgets. Don't you feel that too? You can see that clearly on warships, with human figures. You can easily see that cabins are too small for them, and that they would need to stoop, to use the doors. I just feel that something's wrong with the scale. Don't you agree? Is there a mod to change that?

Welcome aboard!

I think they went to a lot of pains to get it pretty much right, though there was one thread claiming the conning towers on the subs were too big!

As for the doors, trust me, you have to stoop.

I understand that a lot of people worked hard to keep things right, so i hesitated a bit, thinking that i must be wrong. Maybe hesitated not hard enough

On the other hand, though they worked hard, a lot of people have had a lot of complaints, and it's still not perfect.

Keep asking questions, and keep posting.

Because of various limitations with the skins it is not possible to have everything to the correct scale. The textures repeat and change size, so on some parts of the ships you will notice that the portholes & doors are too small or large. The only way to resolve this is to remap the textures and I don't know of anyone who is working on this ATM.

Thanks for answers.
I think i've overreacted
There are some models of smaller ships (some destroyers and tug boats) where i've noticed that figures would rub their heads against the ceiling, but it's not true in most cases. (And hey, i'm not an expert)
Anyway, thanks to all modders for their work. It makes this game even better.

Nobody's offended - I can understand why you took notice. When I bought SH3 (and, most recently, SH4) I was surprised to find out what the textures were like for most vehicles: repetitive and often the wrong size. The issue with the skins has been frustrating for all the ship/submarine modders here. Kind of strange that even older game series like "Nascar Racing" and "Combat Flight Simulator" managed to feature excellent symmetrical skins circa 1999-2000, but to this day submarine sims generally have very crude ship texture mapping. In fairness to the Ubisoft developers it's probably due to budgets & time constraints and not of a lack of will.
