Default Help! TMaru wont install

I have been a lurker on this site for awhile and have been very impressed with the modding that has been going on (been playing SH since SH1) with all the versions, but have been having a prob with getting TMaru and/or bungo pete to install. I have successfully installed captain midnight (xlent mod for immersion-thank you guys) and airbases (once again XLENT mod (thankyouthankyouthankyou)never understood why that wasn't in the orig game). But when I try to install bungo or TM, they dont work. I use JSGME, and name the folders within the MODS folder the exact same as the files that I'm installing, I have left in and removed all mods at various times except the periscope one (required i understand), yet they STILL dont install. Currently I have only TM and periscopes installed and yet I still get:
1 tails
2 no bungo pete destroyer
3 no black subs
4 big chrono
5 hydro contacts on surface
6 all external cameras
7 etcetcetcblahblahblah

leading me to believe that TM, despite JSGME saying it is installed, it really isnt.
If someone could fill me in on what I am doing wrong, I would really appreciate it as SHIV, for me (not bragging, I notice many people have the same prob), has become a bit lame and wayyyyy too easy. To be able to surface in the middle of a six or eight trans. convoy, with min. 3 escs., sink every trans, set depth to 250, plot course away from the scene of the crime on 1/3 silent running, and be able to go have a smoke and a coffee knowing that I will NEVER be DC'd is, well, lame. Since 1.3 I have NEVER been DC'd to death except once when I deliberatly attacked a multi esc'd convoy in <100 ft of water and then had to wait 5 mins before the idiots picked me up sitting on the bottom and they STILL needed 3 passes to finish me off while I was just sitting there. UGH how boring. This is an exceptional game (despite previous and current bugs) IMHO but I need TM or SOME mod to work or I will eventually uninstall, as I find there is NO challenge to this game anymore (I might as well go play mario bros, heh). I anyone has any help, it would be much appreciated. And as an end to this rather long post, let me say thank you too all that modders who have put sooooo much time and effort into making the crappy products Ubi puts out into something worth playing. TAKE A BOW GENTELMEN, GOOD JOB. heehee, love that little rockin' smiley.

Hi Xapp696, Welcome to SUBSIM

This:
I use JSGME, and name the folders within the MODS folder the exact same as the files that I'm installing

Just a question, you mention above naming folders, when you extract\unzip the mod, it is already named and JSGME ready, no need to re-name. By re-naming a folder you are messing with the JSGME folder\file-path configuration, thus it will not activate. I may be wrong here though, as you mention some other mods you have installed.

Also, on my sig there is a link to an Illustrated Guide for JSGME, you may want to check it out for future reference.

That may be the case for the above poster, I always use Winrar and have had no problems.

Woah, that was fast. Thx, I'll go get RAR again (been lazy since new computer purchase) and see if that works. Will also not mess with names of folders (tho' airbases and cpt midn. have always worked fine). Be back later.

Same here. Ive always packed with 7zip, and unpacked with WinRar. Not saying thats what others should be doing, just my program preference is all.

WOOHOO!!! Badaboom, yer da bomb. Thaats what it was... To all, dont be lazy like me and get RAR. Apparently Winzip doesnt properly extract said files, as the winzip-extracted files LOOKED extracted, yet after RAR install, showed that they actually were still compressed. Went right to bungo straights and pete killed me before I knew WTH happened:rotfl: . FINALLY MY COLD BLACK HEART BEATS AGAIN.... AND FAST . No Duci, its not you its me. (heh how many times have i heard THAT in my life). Thank for your help guys, I really really appreciate it. Now if you don't mind, I have a butt that needs some serious kicking. Btw, I just noticed that I didnt post this in the mods section where it prolly should be, sry. Thanks again, it appears my butt shall remain supple no more. (Don't ask...that sounded weird even to me... )

Heh heh heh it certainly is. I just returned from my first patrol off honshu and noticed one "bug", although not a big one, for sure. The removing of the file to reactivate the clicking sound causes an immediate CTD, this happened from a fresh install in port as required. Just FYI, as I really couldn't care less. Thanks again for compiling this mod, ducimus, so far it kicks a** (mine mostly).

Dumb question, but you removed the dials.cfg from the mod, after deactivating it right? This way when you renable the mod, the dials.cfg remains untouched.
