Dido Cruiser

So i was taking my U-84 and her crew to the partol grid CO61 (Our home base is salamis.) and decided to continue my route farther east near egypt and beruit. Well normally there are warships or escorted merchants but i found nothing. I was nearing port said and decided to raid it. I set course to travel down the canal and then turn into the harbour from the east. Time compression was up high when suddenly "we're under attack!" I submerged as deep as i can (10 meters). The condidtions were bad and good. Atleast 6 ships were called to my posistion by the elco but there was 0 visibility and a huge storm was present. Time is around 1:00 am. The elco killed my radio and sonar man (poor chaps). Well, the other ships pursued dropping their charges but not succeding. I thnk some went down due to weather (is that possible?). Anyway i got past the remaining ships and into the canal. Bad news, we are in like 7m water. As we surfaced and scraped our hull for 5 minutes a modern tanker came into view. We were so close you could touch from the bow. I backed up and let fly two torps. Both impacted and tanker down.

So i decided that was enough my hull couldnt take more and so i planned to exit through the north entrance. The only thing i could see in the strom were the lighthouses and we almost rammed a Dido Cruiser. It was docked but the turrets werent working ( probably because short range.) As its machine guns oppened up we lost the watch crew. I let loose two more torps. One under turrets and the other under a smokestack. BOOM. It was down. Well with integrity well under 60% i didnt think i would get home. Well it turns out that i passed a task force on the way home but due to the storm i couldnt tell it till i passed. Anyway i was surprised when we docked safe and somewhat sound. I recieved the iron cross and my chief was promomted. Well that is my story. Hope you enjoyed. --mowgli

:hmm: You know, if you're down that area again, why not try and see how far you can penetrate the actual suez canal

maybe the Red Sea has some good hunting

better stock up on extra flak ammo though

Sure will try. I dont like that area as much though. I like just east of valetta and south east of the friendly nase that starts with a "P".

I use to hang around between Tubruk and Alexandria, I spot a taskforce every patrol

You wanna try transiting the Suez in GWX when there's a convoy transiting it also
