Yesterday i was heading back to Brest from my patrol grid right of the coast of New-York.
One big problem: not enough fuel to reach Brest... The reason was that on my way to the patrol grid there must have been some sabotage or malfunctions (i enabled this feature in SH3-commander) causing a very high fuel consumption at slow speed (6 to 7 knots). So i knew i was getting into trouble anyway with my fuel. I checked the dates milk cowes in the atlantic came available and the first one to happen was U-461 in grid CC61 on 10-04-1942. The actual date was the 30st of march 1942. So i set sail to grid CC61 at a speed of 5 knots. Time of arrival was 9 days later. So i got in the grid where the milk cow would appear 2 days later. Next thing to do: time compression to 1024 and just wait 2 days :-) 2 days later a blue mark appeared on the map about 13 km's from my position, half an hour later my crew noticed a sub, about 8 km's from the blue mark on the map. I followed the sub and yep; it was heading towards the blue mark. When it got there i was able to refuel. So i happened to see the actual arriving of the milk cow. Nice to know is that they don't spawn in at the position of the blue mark but actually sail to there position... Regards, fvd |

Actaully in 1.03 and before Milkcows DO just appear at the patrol zone
They do however move in a figure of 8 but at slow speed In 1.04 they actually leave and return to port as well So you have a chance of meeting them mid ocean too Wont be able to dock though - still only at marked locations ![]() You will also see them docked in a couple of historical ports |
