I just returned to the game after two years, i am using the GWX and "oh my gosh" what an unbelievable improvement on an already amazing game. Thank you to all who made GWX and sub commander mods.
However, i experience crash to desktop now and then when i use the modded sh3 now. It runs fine, aside from less frames per second but i can deal with that. But on occasion i get a blue screen of death detailing memory issues then complete restart of computer (i know not really ctd but worse) Without the crash, when i exit the game i get a warning for low virtual memory. I think this is related to the crash's Anyone have solutions to my problem with memory and crash's? |

How much memory do you have? (Edit: Also, what how much virtual memory do you have configured?) Are you overclocking at all? You ought to run memtest86 to do a full test on your memory.
http://www.memtest86.com/download.html I would get the ISO and burn it, if you can, it makes a bootable disk. This is just to make sure your memory subsystem is OK. I once had my mem clock speeds wrong, and memtest86 got to a certain point and the machine went BSOD (it must have overheated). It was new memory, so I went through all the settings, and found one wrong. Then I ran memtest86 again, and it was OK.

If you are runing an Athlon 64 familiy processor the mem error could be caused by the processor overheating since the memory controller is integrated on die, when was the last time you lceaned your heatsinks and/or replaced the thermal interface compound?

System specs are always needed for these issues
But as you are getting low memory warnings on exit I would say you either need more ram or to up the pagefile limit at very least SH3 is a memory hungry game GWX does add to that too |

I notice you still haven't notified anyone of your RAM. FYI 1GB is the least you should be using (the game will struggle along on 512MB) and 2GB is ideal

He must've been really tight on memory, with a smallish pagefile, so it was either page out the kernel or the game (everything else already having gone). "Sorry, game, off with you!"
