Default CBS radio mod question

Hello All,

I have D/L the mod and installed, when I play that freq, I hear either news etc. however in the background I hear music, or news. It would be like crosstalk you would hear on a AM radio station late at night. Is this normal for this mod? Please advise, if so it's a very cool and realistic feature.

thanks

Navigate to your /Data/Sound/Radio folder and open up the radio.ini file. Find the section for the CBS News channel, and paste in this text at the end of the entry: MusicVolumeOnNews=0.1.

To get rid of the music, which is coming from tracks in the station folder, you need to edit your radio.ini as follows:

[CHANNEL]
Name=Music
Folder=music
Freq=25
Antenna=01.01.1930-01.01.2000:60.00,33.00:100000
;MusicVolumeOnNews takes values from 0.01 to 1
MusicVolumeOnNews=0.01

The imporytant line is "MusicVolumeOnNews=0.01". That cuts the random music, and leaves the scripted content from the events.ini file playing out loud and clear. When the news is over, the random tracks will be r4estored.

Thanks for the input Von, and Luke. I was wondering the same thing. One other quick one. Does this need to be done while in port as if I was installing a new mod, or can it be done while at sea without messing things up? TIA

You can do it anytime, in port or at sea. It's a basic setting.

Hello all,

Ok I looked for this ini file but I do not see it. Is it the config file that opens in notepad? Other than that I see nothing else in the radio file other than sound files. Please advise.:hmm:

thanks,
