Visible bow and stern wakes underwater!

While trying to make my VIIb sub's dual exhaust mod speed dependant I accidentally made this discovery:









Is that.....no....well yes it is......visible bow and stern wakes under water!

The pics were taken of a VIIb sub at ahead slow bell. They get even better as you go faster!! They are even dependant of the sub's relation to the waterline - if the nose dips down under the water then the visible underwater bubbles cease....too cool!
It's SO easy to make this happen it makes me sick. It was already built into the sub's files. Chalk another one up to luck! A very simple little hex edit of your sub's files will enable this. Now granted this can be tweaked to look even better but I'll come back to it once my speed controlled dual exhaust sub mod is complete.

Racerboy- looks great. Does it only work on the surface or do you get the "wake" graphics at depth, too? Good luck on the diesel exhaust mod - looks like a promising download!

It works on the surface only. If the bow of your ship goes under the water then the front wake stops 'producing' and fades away (same for stern). Once you submerge they all go away. Pretty cool Basically what you see on the surface for your bow and stern wakes is made from this. As you know the bow and stern wakes (and ship wake) go away once you submerge. I didn't add or delete anything in the .val file to make this work. All I did is change some 0x00's to 0x01's. Way too simple!

I'm thinking about expanding this for the sides of the ship also. I'll have to add in some more 'stuff' in the .val for it but it should be easy to do.
