Zero and other Planes

I was just curious and was wondering if this has happened to anyone. I was patrol off the coast of the Philippines and took out several bogeys trying to take me down but my gunner Chief Petty Officer Morgan took them out. The only problem is the came crashing down very close to my submarine to close for comfort. Has anyone have had a plane crash into there submarine. Just curious!

HAd a Betty do a cartwheel across in front of my conning tower and clip my deck gun, damaging it, Concusion from his own bombs apparently put him into a spin

Yup, whenever I decide to stay and fight instead of diving, I swear about 50% of the time I get hit by the uncanny AI of the planes' dead crew, regardles of my evasive manoevres... Zero's are OK, but I always sink after a Betty decides to use me as a landing strip.

Yep, been hit by a Betty...lost my boat because of the heavy damage...floodying to the engines and took both desiels and electrics out of action...sitting duck...started repairs...couple hours later...

"Aircraft spotted! Aircraft spotted!"

...

Ya...crash dived...to the bottom of the ocean...

And I saw the craziest thing in one of the quick missions. I think it was the Battle off Samar one, with the 4 BBs against the US carriers. well, it was going well and I took a look through the external cam and I saw a US bomber on fire heading very slowly towards one of the BBs...couple seconds later the pilot bailed and the plane crashed into the bridge of the BB...I've heard of Jap Kamikazes...but American?

About 70% percent of the time, they line the plane up with the sub and bail out, I've been sunk many times by kamikaze planes.

If you bail out before your plane hits, it is NOT Kamikaze. You are trying to survive.
You are using your dead plane as a bomb....

I've been reading a book about operation pedestal - the do-or-die convoy to Malta in 1942 that is generally considered to have been the edge Malta needed to survive tha Axis attacks.

The tanker Ohio had two planes crash nearby after being shot down, then bounce off the sea and land on the decks. One on the foredeck (a JU 87) and one on the stern (JU 88). Another ship also had a JU 88 splash down, only to bounce up onto their deck as well.

Diving aircraft attacks on ships seem to often have very odd outcomes.

I've never had a plane hit me but I did have an HK6 miss my conning tower by about 10 feet with me on the tower. That would of been a very nasty day
