Default Problem with GWX - 16km Atmosphere on my Notebook

I installed SH3 + GWX 1.03 + SH3 Commander on my new Notebook (Toshiba Satego X200). The GFX Card is a NVIDIA GeForce 8700M GT.

If i activate the 16km Atmosphere Mod i have some "ghost images" flickering on the horizont. I don't know how to name it else and its too seldom for screenshot. Perhaps ill try to make a video. It seems to be restricted to good weather conditions though.

Has anyone the same problem or have an idea what could help?

Best Regards,
Mueller72

Not alot you can do by the sound of it.
Sounds like a vid card / driver issue, you can experiment with different driver versions, go to www.nvidia.com

Sounds like you got a good graphics chip I dont doubt its capable of running SH3 with 16km, only trouble with laptops that I can think of - is that they no longer have dedicated graphics memory, instead they used Turbo Cache where it uses the main memory - not sure if it has something to do with that. How much RAM you got in total? if you got 2GB then I really dont think its a hardware problem. at the end of the SH3 is 2 year old game, are you running Vista or XP Btw.

if worse comes to worst -stick to 8Km.

Did you rollback SH3Cmdr before enabling the mod? If no have a look at this thread http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=121090

I reckon your notebook graphics card is overheating a little. If you have a notebook stand for your notebook then put it on that, and even try blowing a desk fan on it while you play. Hope this helps.

I play on a laptop to. i actually set up the back of it on hockey pucks and have a small fan blowing underneath it all the time.

does wonders for cooling issues.

On a notebook (which I have) it's best to run the 8Km. I can do 16Km on my desktop without any problems tho.
