Default GWX pushing hard..

Why GWX is pushing hard on my computer than the stock one?
moreover, before GWX, i used heavily modded SH3 including, better textures and so forth. It was ok then.

Now, since i have installed GWX, my computer is running like a turtle???

What exactly is the reason of this performance drop? (if it is textures i might be able to switch them with easier ones)

Lots of new, custom objects like ships and planes and etc. Denser traffic (depending on what mods you used before, more than stock anyway). Textures in 1.03 are improved over earlier versions, it's the amount of objects mainly...better sounds than stock too.

Im not a gwx user so im guessing here, but if gwx includes the east coast mine barrage (like NYGM) then that`ll kill your fps, dropped mine from 70+ to around 4-5fps.
If this is the case just delete it using the mission editor.

I'm running GWX on what's approximately a 2 year system. AMD 2600+ , 1.2GB ram and Nvidia 6600GT with 128MB of DDR2 memory.

Apart from loading times being fairly long it runs fine while in the actual game, and loading times have to do with more objects and (i guess) a decision to preload stuff so as not to pause and load during gameplay which would be more annoying.

The only times i have seen it struggle to keep up is when i load up on the start of a new patrol. There, panning the camera is a bit jerky and sounds might cut out due to the heavy traffic that GWX models in the starting ports, but it only lasts for 2-3 seconds and goes back to normal.

As for the mines, according to the GWX manual there actually is a huge minefield on the british east coast, but as i haven't sailed close to that yet i haven't seen any performance drops as a result.
