I am no tech wizard myself when it comes to electronics (fine mechanisms any time), but I found changing the fans to be almost offendingly easy. Even changing the PSU was no drama and I managed to get through that process fluidly. Just make sure you get the correct fan size, and a free power connector, else you need an Y-connector. Hm, wrong word, I let somebody else explain.

Don't worry, changing fans is all easy. Just look close at things, and you are already done.

I'm not certain which fan you mean (believe it or not, there are a couple of different types) but I'm pretty sure you'll need to remove the case to access it. If it's a case fan, drawing air into the case or pushing out to ventilate, it is a pretty straightforward procedure and at least in my case requires no tools. Pop open the case, touch the chassis to discharge static, unplug, and then take a minute to study the housing for the fan. Mine just have little clips that need to be depressed before it falls away, some have screws. Go slow and easy and you can figure it out

If it's a processor or graphics card fan... while still possible I find you must apply a tremendous amount of force on a small surface which, though it has never happened to me, seems like it carries a high risk of slipping and wrecking some hardware component. If you are brave give it a shot, otherwise hand it off to someone with experience.

Having just built my own system for the first time, I can vouch for the ease of messing with fans, depending on their type...chassis fans are exceedingly easy, and typically only require four screws (or in the case of my Zalman, silicon pins) and holes. CPU fans are a little more complicated as they require some form of applique (usually Arctic Silver 5) and then attaching it to the motherboard mount. However, both procedures are very, very easy.
