Default Please help!

I saved a career and I can't reload it now. I was south west of Ireland and I had racked up 8 ships sunk for about 84,000 GRT... I had to save my career patrol because I had to leave. Now I can't reload it! It always gives me some kind of an error message saying "Silent Hunter III has encountered a problem and has to close". It will load all the way up to where the white words "...Not that long ago" appear on the screen, then the error message comes on. PLease help! Any advice on how I can reload this career would be much appreciated. (I've tried restarting the computer to no avail) Thanks!!

Hello DFB:
I want to ask if you saved while you had a contact or you were submerged. If you did, most likely you won't be able to reload the same save file, but you can try loading the one before your last save.
Try to relod your last save at least 2 or 3 times before you try the next option. I f you hav eno luck, then it means that your file got corrupted somehow and I am afraid it will be impossible to load it, no matter how many times you try.
i hope this helps you mate.

I had 3 total saves for this career. I first tried my latest one in which I was submerged. I figured that might be the problem, so I tried the other 2 in which I was surfaced before I saved. They give me the same error message! This is so frustrating! Thanks Cap Zap!

Sorry to hear that, DFB.
I know that sometimes your saves somehow get corrupted. There is another way to fix it, but i don't know exactly the method. It's something about moving your SH3 folder from the C drive... but would be better if you wait until someone else shows and points you in the right direction. I am sure you will find some valuable help from other Kaleuns....
