Default OT Yellow bathing ducks on tour...

This is a link to an article on a Danish newspapers website, and yes, sorry, it's in Danish, but you can look on the picture, and I'll summurize the most important!

http://ekstrabladet.dk/nyheder/viden...icle313672.ece

During a storm in 1992, a Chinese cargo vessel lost a container with bathing toys such as yellow bathing ducks in the southern Pacific!
About 29,000 surfaced, and from which 19,000 went to the south towards Australia, Indonesia and South America. 10,000 went to the north and passed Hawaii and through the Bering strait into the north pole, where they were frozen in the ice for three years. The ice carried them eastwards around Greenland, where they slowly were released by the ice and drifted into the Gulfstream, and as such they will in the coming years run ashore on the British isles, Western Europe and in Scandinavia.
During this trip the colour has slowly faded from yellow to white. And they are all marked 'The First Years'. Normally, I wouldn't pick up such as thing on the beach, if I found it, but now knowing their story, it would be an interesting object to own, if found...

Interesting and cute little story, don't you think?

That's pretty cool. I'm sure someone will start selling some on ebay.

Oceanographers learnt a lot from these ducks apparently.
