Call me whatever you want but I think it would have worked. Maybe not as effectively as hoped for but birds would associate a sub with food.

Well, I think it would have worked some of the time....
However, there would have been many false alarms and I doubt it would have been a wise investment compared to other ASW tactics. Plus....It wouldn't work at night!
