Default Is this a GWX glitch?

Well Here it goes.

I was getting Hammered by Depth Charges for a good 30 minutes (real life time) trying to evade one DD crew that no doubt skilled.

Anyway Soon I noticed he started doing runs over me and dident drop any charges... this continued for the rest of the evasion time he dident drop a single DC after that. Did he run out or something?

No it is not a GWX glitch. It is an SH3 problem. As long as they have you as a hard or soft contact they will perform attack runs, even if they have no more DC's or have blown their stern racks off... which is also an SH3 problem.

This is not a GWX glitch, it's a stock glitch.

All DD's/Escorts will eventually run out of DC's and if they still have you on thier sensors they will still make attack runs.

Look at this way, as in RL, the DD or Escort will try to keep you under until you run out of battery or air, firstly so that the convoy can escape and secondly forcing you to surface and either surrender or be destroyed by thier guns.

EDIT - Ta Kpt, must type faster!

at lesser realism settings i have had flower corvettes blow the racks off himself... ill surface behind him and sink him with the deck gun hahaha

even at harder realism settings you can let one pass you from stern to bow overhead and make for periscope depth and fire a snap shot torpedo (or even a spread) at him and manage a kill sometimes.

the fact that SH3 does this to you though a glitch is a good thing.... look at it this way, if there are more than one DD up there and one is out of DCs but still making attack runs - the other boats WITH DCs cant make runs on you while he is making dry runs on you - lil more time to escape while he is holding up the show up there.

Exactly, this is quite realistic. Once I was sitting securely on the bottom of Pentland Firth (S of Scapa) at 70m. Looking with free cam to kill some time, how my enemy couldn't find me and started to drop DC shallower each time until he blow off his rack

He was still around for an hour (?) but suddenly turned around and went his way west through the channel. Few minutes later I was struggling with rain of DC from a truly skilled DD, not just a rebuild trawler ... (not) nice

I wonder if it would be possible to modify some file in order to make the DC launchers indestructible to prevent them from being blown off?
