Default Radar and Sonar

Just purchased and received it today...installed it, patched it and it looks stunning...graphically a superb game...

I do apologise as I bet this has been asked before, but I did do a search on "Radar" and "Sonar" and loads of posts were brought back...after the first page in each, and not finding anything useful with regards to my questions, I gave up.

I am having problems using the radar and sonar. The manual has a pathetic amount of info and no actual proper information with regard to using them....

So, my question is...are there any tutorials or guides out there? I really want to track a target, submerged with sonar, or with radar on the surface...but I have NO IDEA how to do it. My map shows contacts, but sonar and radar do not pick them up...I presume because of distance...but I have no idea.

There is no info in the manual regarding range (especially for sonar...I think radar has 4,000, 40,000 and 80,000). So I do not know how to find and track...

Also, radar...there are 2....how do I use them?

I know those are vague questions...but I really have no clue on how to use these essential items...if there are guides out there, I'd very much apprciate a link to them.

Thx
